Antique Haynes USQMC Db Grenadilla Wood Piccolo Sterling Keys 1918 & Case As-Is

This listing is for a Haynes grenadilla wood Db piccolo made for the USQMC group back in 1918 (per Haynes’ serial records). This piccolo needs new pads/refurbishing to be in playing condition. This piccolo features grenadilla wood head and body. The keywork is Boehm with closed G#, it pre-dates the Bb trill (so no Bb trill key), silver keys and still has the gold springs intact. Included is a new case that is lovely with a burgundy interior. This is listed as part of an estate sale we are liquidating. Haynes Piccolo Silver Hand Made #8101 1924 Db closed hole

From the private collection of Sound Investments USA LLC. He had a collection Sound Investments’ bought. Information from the Haynes site. Serial number 8101 = 1924. Handmade November 21, 1924. There are just a few tiny pin head sized dings hard to show in the photos. Not much at all in the way of wear from an exactly 100-year-old Piccolo. The pads are shown and up to the new owner if they want to replace the pads. All keys function properly. Please see our reviews. Thanks for your interest. Andreas Eastman (Haynes Amadeus 500/520) Flute EFL-220 Open Hole C Foot

Eastman is the owner of the William S. So it’s no surprise that the body style is this flute heavily favors the Amadeus 500 series. This flute has inline G, open holes, c foot, and is plated. This will need some work to play in excellent condition as you can tell in the demo video. The thumb key is sticking some and the F adjoining keys appears to need adjusted causing airiness below G. This is just what I noticed and a skilled tech will be able to make recommendations. It comes with the case which does not have the Eastman logo on it. Serial number was written in a paint marker of sorts. This would make a nice step up from a student model or for the serious beginner. Pricing based on the fact that a tech will need to service for top playing condition. If you have any questions or want more pictures I’m here to help. Antique Baystate WM Haynes Boston 1800s Wooden FlutePiccolo Serial Number 5xxx E

Antique grenadilla wood – no cracks, intricate key work inlay tone holes. E’ Piccolo/flute made by top flute makers William and George of the JC Haynes company BOSTON MA. (flute makers late 1800s -early 1900s Boston, MA BAYSTATE was their first name brand). Later, they made silver, gold and other wooden flutes (wooden flutes ended 1918). Read their history here. LOOK AT THE WOOD GRAIN, and the key details. The left hand of this flute/piccolo plays ok but this instrument needs right hand adjustment. This Rare E LP flute comes with what I believe is the original case.
