Pearl Flutes PFP-105 105E Grenaditte Synthetic Piccolo, Marching & Concert Use. Silver-plated pinless mechanism, split E, high wave-style headjoint. Soft outer shell, hard case inside. Includes cork cap, cleaning rod, and polishing cloth. Grenaditte headjoint and body – synthetic material, warm rich sound with excellent projection, suitable for both concert and marching use. Material impervious to temperature changes, no worries of cracking! Pinless mechanism typical of Pearl instruments, no pins to snag on clothing. Split E mechanism is an amazing feature that comes standard – makes the notorious high E easier to voice in various dynamics and helps it respond quicker and more stable. Good intermediate piccolo, ideal for most situations and grade levels (younger students may need lessons to get used to the more advanced headjoint with lack of lip-plate). Tone and timbre are very close to that of wooden piccolos, especially when played by a seasoned flutist. I used this in many semi-pro gigs and people couldn’t guess that it wasn’t wood. — PLEASE NOTE: Some cosmetic damage/light scratches on the surface of the instrument, please see photos. Does not affect the instrument’s performance. 1-and-1 Bb felt will need to be replaced, please see photos. Bb can still be played with Thumb Bb and top Bb key; but 1-and-1 leaks due to the felt being too thin and sounds B natural.
