Nice, quite long & old wooden piccolo flute probably in Bb

It is a bit longer than the piccolos I usually sell. The pre owner told me, that it is an ebony flute in Bb, but Im not sure about this. There is a very thin crack at the back of the head. There are some (unreadable) numbers at the instrument, but no makersname. Please make sure that you see all the photos! The instrument may need minor service and cleaning. The pads and corcs look ok. Antique Boosey Hawkes Rosewood Fife, Wooden Flute Piccolo, Vintage Folk Whistle

This beautiful antique Boosey & Kawkes fife Piccolo? Date to the 19th century, it is made from rosewood ebony? And has several metal keys as seen in the photos. All the keys appearing to be in good working order however the pads look old and may need replacing. The flute splits into two, these segments appear to be made from two different woods which makes me wonder if they started off life together? Condition is good, it is complete with no splits in the wood, mechanically the piece seems fine. However the end cap is broken as shown in last photo, the end of the fife that this piece attaches to seems to be plugged with an internal piece so I think the broken part is more decorative that functional. The joint between the two segments will need attention to achieve an airtight seal. Measuring 37 cm long. Intéressant lot de 2 flutes piccolos de dimensions légèrement différentes. Celle de droite (ou du haut) mesure 31 cm. Elle est en bois noir avec des taches claires (en ébène de macassar ou palissandre). Il y a une petite fente sur le barillet sans gravité pour la sonorité (la partie est doublée de métal) et une petite rayure près de l’embouchure. Les tampons sont anciens. La flûte de gauche mesure 30 cm (30,5cm en mesurant la vis qui ressort). Sur cette flute piccolo, on devine la marque de Paul BEUSCHER (le nom Beuscher est peu lisible). Dans un cartouche, on lit. Il y a deux petites fentes sur le barillet sans gravité pour la sonorité (la partie est doublée de métal). Un tampon est manquant. Un ressort est manquant. Pour les deux instruments, les tampons et les ressorts sont anciens. Ils n’ont pas été joué depuis longtemps. Antique Transverse Rosewood “Corona Orchestra” 6 key Flute. The flute is composed of 5 elements which fit snuggly together without movement. The keys appear to function properly and contain worn pads. The brass lined head piece has 2 wood cracks which are pictured. These should not affect playing quality because of the brass lining. The flute is marked Corona Orchestra as pictured. Total length approximately 24 1/2. The antique 6 key piccolo is composed of a dark hard wood but not rosewood. The piece breaks down into 4 components with nickel silver padded keys and other elements. The head and middle piece each show a crack as pictured. Some scratches are also present. The total length of the unmarked piccolo is approx. The 2 pieces come in a felt lined hinged box which is a old replacement. The pieces are offered as found without repairs or restorations. Antique FLAGEOLET piccolo flute stamped Ouvrard (Marans), in granadillo wood. I know very little about musical instruments but I can confirm that it is made in granadillo wood and that wood is in perfect condition, without cracks, scratches or bumps and that the keys seem to be in good condition without missing any parts. The carrying case is mahogany and has a working key. To see somethings about flageolet see. The flute is 36 cms long. All items I sell are vintage or antique and may not be as new or when first made and may show signs of wear, age, use, or soiling, rust, dents, scratches, chips, flakes, or states that are other than when originally made.
