THIS IS A NICE VINTAGE WOOD AND SILVER PICCOLO THAT SAYS ARTLEY ON IT AND IT WAS MADE/DESIGNED BY ROY SEAMAN IN THE 70’S FOR THE ARTLEY COMPANY AND IS A PROFESSIONAL PICCOLO. IT WAS ORIGANALLY DESIGNED AS A WOOD BODY PICCOLO WITH A SILVER HEADJOINT, BUT THERE IS A PLASTIC HEAD JOINT INCLUDED AT NO EXTRA COST, NICE TO HAVE WHEN PLAYING IN THE PIT OR IN SLIGHTLY COLDER VENUES. NICE WELL KEPT PICCOLO AND STILL LOOKS GOOD AND IT DOES PLAY WELL. AS IT IS BUT YOU MAY WANT IT TO BE ADJUSTED TO YOUR DEMANDING SPECS, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF THE MIX OF PAD CONDITION. THE KEYS ON THE PICCOLO ARE SILVER AS IS ONE OF THE HEAD JOINTS, AND STILL LOOK NICE AND JUST SHOW A. SMALL AMOUNT OF WEAR FROM NORMAL CAREFUL USE. 5 OF THE PADS ARE FAIRLY NEW. A FEW ARE MODERATE WITH SEVERAL. THAT ARE DEFINATELY OLD. THIS WAS ADJUSTED RECENTLY AND THE PICCOLO DOES. PLAY PRETTY NICELY AS IT IS, BUT I CANNOT FIGURE WHY YOU WOULD NOT WANT TO JUST HAVE THE OLDEST PADS REPLACED JUST TO BE SURE IT IS IN TOP CONDITION FOR YOUR PROFESSIONAL USE. THE CASE IS STILL NICE. THERE IS A TUNING ROD. AS YOU CAN SEE, THE ORIGINAL CASE ONLY HOLDS ONE HEAD JOINT AT A TIME. SO THERE IS A SECOND AFTER MARKET SOFT CASE THAT WILL HOLD BOTH HEADS AND WILL BE INCLUDED IN THIS LISTING. NOTHING ELSE WITH THIS THAN WHAT IS MENTIONED. IT WOULD BE BEST FOR A PLAYER WHO KNOWS AND APPRECIATES THESE ROY SEAMAN MADE PICCOLOS FOR WHAT THEY ARE. VERY WELL SUITED FOR A WOODWIND DOUBLER!!! This particular music box is particularly original and includes its original sound card. Some of the songs are unusually familiar, even after nearly 150 years! The box functions flawlessly and the track identifying dial is accurate. It has a very strong and loud sound. It is becoming more and more difficult to find these machines functioning and original.
