L Lebret #2912 handmade antique French silver plated piccolo flute c. 1900 Lovely C piccolo flute carefully handmade in Paris by Louis Léon Joseph Lebret circa 1900, former Louis Lot employee. Serial number is #2912. Lip plate engraving: “Lebret Paris”. L Lebret Paris Fournisseur du Conservatoire 2,912 Déposé. This “time capsule” instrument is in full original condition, never modified, certainly with its original pads. Clearly, this piccolo has been played only several months by its original owner, then safely stored by the family in a dry closet until now. After a careful disassembling and examination, we can’t find any wear on the keys and mechanics. The tone holes are perfect. This gorgeous Lebret piccolo plays on its original pads with this rich, deep and singing sound from the French golden era, in the tradition established by Louis Lot and Auguste Bonneville. Please look at the perfect oval cut of the embouchure hole! Lower notes sound thin: the piccolo will need new pads. Full length: 323 mm. Sounding length: 267 mm. Plays at 440 Hz. This piccolo comes in its original case in excellent condition. Very few remain on the market today : they are so cherished by professional musicians and sought after by collectors.
