Concert Band Marching Flute, Closed Hole, Good Used Condition Emmmerson DeFord

Emerson DeFord, 1969, SN 962, Good Playable Condition, Close Holed Flute. Emerson DeFord started several music companies in his day and designed several flutes. This particular one he designed for the Bruno music company and manufactured out of Elkhart Indiana. Emerson had an extremely hands on approach to instrument making and if shows in this one as it’s still in amazing condition 56 years later. This listing is for the pictured E. DeFord flute made for Bruno in 1969, serial number 962. Repadded in the early 2000s and barely played since, this instrument is still in good playable condition (no air leaks) Likewise, the corks were redone around the same time. The key plating is in good condition and has worn though slightly in spots, most noticably on the offset G key. The body plating is in somewhat worse condition with the beginning of minor piting (that shouldn’t worsen with routine care and maintenance) and buff marks from an overzealous student cleaning. It has several scuffs, minor dents, and some scratching but the integrity of the instrument is not compromised. It gets a clear sound, even for me who primaries on brass winds. The keys, springs and supports are all aligned and in good sound condition. Please examine all photos carefully for details and reach out with any questions.
