Antique Rosewood Fife, Wooden Flute Or Piccolo, Vintage Irish Folk Marching Whis
This beautiful antique fife dates to around 1890, it is made from rosewood and has several metal keys as seen in the photos. All the keys appearing to be working however the pads look old and may need replacing, there does not appear to be a makers mark that I can find. The flute splits into two pieces, the joint is tight as this is a very nicely made piece. There seems to be a very minor split to the bottom segment near the joint, you can see this in photo 10. I cannot play the instrument however my friend tested it and it sounded sweet. Condition is excellent and original, there are some minor losses near the mouth piece. I have not attempted to clean the piece and have left the tape on the joint, this was placed by the previous owner. Measuring 37 cm long.
