This is the 3 valve long bell model (like the P5-4 but with the 3 valves). It is capable of playing in Bb or A. It is a wonderful playing horn that I just can’t justify keeping. The upper register is especially nice without the weight of the 4th valve. The only problems with the horn are a slight ding in the leadpipe that I can’t seem to capture in a photo and the fact that you have to throw the 3rd slide all the way out to play a low concert D in the A side. Otherwise, it’s perfect and plays great! The instrument has been professionally cleaned/polished and is ready to play. All sales are final. I did not see any dents or dings on the instrument. The gold finish is in excellent condition. All of the tuning slides move freely. The valves are in great condition – compression is “like new”. The Trumpet is very clean and will not require any servicing – it is ready to play! You will not find another P5-4 in better condition – it looks like it was bought brand new and barely played. I see no issues with it – it is in Mint Condition! This Trumpet plays great! The tone/color is rich yet clear and resonant. Response and intonation are excellent. A non-original Bb Trumpet hard case is included and is in near new condition. The instrument fits in the case decently and protects it. This is a Bach Stradivarius Bb/A Piccolo Trumpet, Model 196 in Near Mint Condition. The serial number is 364787 indicating that it was manufactured in 1991. The instrument is in fantastic condition as it has not been played very much at all and has always been well taken care of and stored indoors. All valves are very quick and slides move freely with little signs of wear. The Bach Stradivarius model 196 is a versatile short bell piccolo trumpet with a signature Bach sound. 401 bore with a one-piece hand-hammered short yellow brass bell resulting in both great projection and broad timber. Four Monel pistons extend the range to low. Two separate A and Bb mouthpipes with trumpet shank mouthpiece receivers are designed to optimize the tuning in both Bb and A. The 196 is a versatile and nimble piccolo trumpet well suited for all types of playing. This trumpet is a solid, consistent player and would be a great choice for any performer. This instrument is a one owner horn, and it comes with the original case that is also in near mint condition. This instrument has been chem-cleaned and buffed in the Brass Alliance Workshop and will be a great instrument for years to come for any artist or collector!
