Used Piccolo

Used YAMAHA YPC-61 Piccolo with both head joints; Serial Number: 6215 (not positive about 6 – hard to read). Manufactured sometime between 1971 & 1979. Split E makes high E pop easily. Wood body in good shape; wear consistent with age. Silver plating on keys & mechanisms has some deterioration (see pics), something common with this model piccolo. Wood head joint in good shape, no cracks. This instrument has a warm tone; when played with wood head joint, a sweet sounding, less-shrill tweeter! Alternative silver plated head joint in very good shape – almost never used it just never worked for me! Cork pads in good condition; when kept in regulation this piccolo needs little maintenance. Pads have some age but seal well. Instrument plays very well for me from top to bottom. This is a workhorse – it has served me well in studio and musical theatre pit orchestras; I have recently upgraded to a Burkart piccolo and it’s time to let this one go.
