Up for grabs is a Christensen sterling silver cylindrical bore piccolo with sterling keywork and gold springs. The D# spring has been previously replaced with a blued steel spring. This lovely piccolo is in need of a full restoration to include all new pads. Piccolo is complete with all parts. Original case is included. Believed to be in Db low pitch (A-435hz or so). L Lebret #2912 handmade antique French silver plated piccolo flute c. 1900 Lovely C piccolo flute carefully handmade in Paris by Louis Léon Joseph Lebret circa 1900, former Louis Lot employee. Serial number is #2912. Lip plate engraving: “Lebret Paris”. L Lebret Paris Fournisseur du Conservatoire 2,912 Déposé. This “time capsule” instrument is in full original condition, never modified, certainly with its original pads. Clearly, this piccolo has been played only several months by its original owner, then safely stored by the family in a dry closet until now. After a careful disassembling and examination, we can’t find any wear on the keys and mechanics. The tone holes are perfect. This gorgeous Lebret piccolo plays on its original pads with this rich, deep and singing sound from the French golden era, in the tradition established by Louis Lot and Auguste Bonneville. Please look at the perfect oval cut of the embouchure hole! Lower notes sound thin: the piccolo will need new pads. Full length: 323 mm. Sounding length: 267 mm. Plays at 440 Hz. This piccolo comes in its original case in excellent condition. Very few remain on the market today : they are so cherished by professional musicians and sought after by collectors. Item is located in France. The instrument can become misaligned slightly during transport. Please feel free to ask any question. The item “Rare L. “Time Caps eule” A. Lecomte & Cie handmade antique French wooden Db piccolo flute circa 1900 Lovely Db piccolo flute carefully handmade in Paris by Arsène Zoë Lecomte between 1890 and 1910. L&Cie (tuning fork)/A. According to The New Langwill Index , Arsène Zoë Lecomte was trained by Gautrot Aîné before creating his own shop. This “time capsule” instrument is in full original condition, never modified, certainly with its original pads. Clearly, this piccolo has been played only several months by its original owner, then safely stored by the family in a dry closet until now. After a careful disassembling and examination, we can’t find any wear on the keys and mechanics. The tone holes are perfect. The grain and texture of the flammed exotic wood is absolutely delicious. This gorgeous Lecomte piccolo plays pretty well on its original pads with this rich, deep and singing sound from the French golden era, in the tradition established by Louis Lot and Auguste Bonneville. Please look at the perfect oval cut of the embouchure hole! No visible cracks or repaired cracks in the wood except one on the end cap. Plays pretty well from low to high notes but would certainly benefit from new pads and corks. Sounding length: 247 mm. Full length: 301 mm Plays at 440 Hz. Comes in a delicious french wooden case in very good condition. Very few remain on the market today : they are so cherished by professional musicians and sought after by collectors.
