Vintage Yamaha Drums Japan SD493 Brass 3.5 X 14 Piccolo Snare Drum Power Hoops
Letting a few rare gems go. Japanese drum building and design at its very best. The Sakae-era snares are legendary. This brass piccolo is no exception. This is the original 80s version. Favored by Yamaha artist and studio engineers alike. Fantastic sounding snd easily playable snare. But, you know that already. This drum was a live and studio workhorse snare. It was well cared for and is still in very good used condition for the most part. Strainer and adjustable butt function smoothly and used Evans heads tune up with ease. Original Power Hoops are solid Additionally, original wires were replaced with 80s Pearl Free Floating extended wires. They lay perfectly flat. Edges are clean and integrity of the shell is excellent. Drum was used a lot, but still sounds, feels and records great! This is a players drum. Upon close inspection, youll find scratches, fingerprints, smudges and oxidation marks on the brass shell and lugs. Lugs are slightly bowed – still solid and hold tension perfectly. Very common with these lugs. Plenty of scratches and dings on the hoops and strainer. Drum is complete, except for one missing outer spacer-bar from the strainer. The bar on the butt side is present. The missing bar has no effect on the performance of the strainer. It just serves as a spacer for the tightening bolts of the wires level rod. Excellent rare find for the player. Yamaha Drums Japan Original David Garibaldi 3.5 X 14 Brass Piccolo Snare Drum
Letting a few rare gems go. Japanese drum building and design at its very best. The vintage Yamaha brass piccolos are legendary. This Garibaldi spin on the 80s classic is no exception. Made as much popular by Questlove, as by the Man himself. But, you know that already. This is a very rare, early example of this coveted drum – square badge #159. The plain square badge is the original run, while the more ornate rectangular badge is a later production. The drum is completely factory original, except for the Aquarian batter head. This snare drum is in very good used condition. Absolutely no issues of concern with this fine instrument. Strainer and adjustable butt function smoothly and heads tune up with ease. Drum is used, but still looks great! Scrutinizer Note: Upon close inspection, youll find a few scratches and nicks on the blue shell and marks/scratches on the badge and chrome. Brass badge has a few oxidation marks along its perimeter. Chrome and brass badge still shine and blue finished shell gleams. Both heads are used and show it – tiny dent in the middle of the Yamaha branded resonant head. Too, the original Yamaha 20 strand steel wires lay flat when strainer is engaged. There are many pictures of this item provided. They are your general condition reference. Pretty self explanatory if you examine and use zoom. Issues that hinder functionality or are severe in nature/appearance will be described below for this listing. Still, the photos are your best and primary condition description. Items General Condition Overview. Gold plating is wearing off all hardware. All steel parts show rust and scratches. Black matte has some dings and scratches. Factory wires are rusty. Badge is rusty, but, still relatively clear. Remo batter Emperor and Evans Hazy 300 are very good. There is one replacement tension rod, not-Spaun or gold plated, and two missing black plastic washers – on bottom. Integrity of the shell and edges are very good. Edges clean and smooth to touch. Snare strainer functions well. This drum is in generally good used players condition. Fully functional used condition. Ideal for a player or sound engineer looking to add a high quality drum to their kit, for less. Tunes up and sounds great. Funny, boutique drum companies are charging quite a bit these days for drums with this weathered look. Please examine all photos. Tama Drums Metalworks 4 X 13 Black Nickel Piccolo Snare Drum 8 Starclassic Lugs
Factory original drum – except used batter head. This model ST1340BN snare was available in 2010. It has been kept in the weatherproof soft faux-leather Tama case when not in use. This version has a thicker shell (1.2mm), compared to the current Metalworks 1mm black Steel Shell line. The black nickel finish of this snare looks really classy, too. Especially the contrast between the shell and hoops. Make a reasonable offer or BIN immediately. This drum is also available on Reverb. If needed, more photos available there. I have fully scrutinized this drum and conservatively determined it is in very good used condition. This drum is NOT mint. But, as youll see, shes a beauty still. There are very lite micro-scratches on the lugs and rims. Integrity of the shell and edges are excellent. Nickel finish is very clean. Just a few superficial micro-scratches/nicks. Badge is clean. Rims are good. But, batter has some nicks. Original bottom head is clear. Top Evans is good. Both tune up fine. Original Starclassic snare wires are excellent. Strainer is excellent. Rods and steel/plastic washers are very good. Just some very mild fade on some rods. This is an exceptional used drum with no real issues of concern. This is one stellar snare for the player, recording engineer or collector. The sound, of course, is exceptional. Please examine all photos. Vintage Pearl Drums Free Floating 3.5 X 14 Brass Free Floater Piccolo Snare Drum
As you know, these original 80s vintage Free Floating brass piccolos dont pop up that often – especially with all original parts. Drum is factory original, except for the used heads. Could use a thorough detailing. See pictures above and overview below. Make a reasonable offer or BIN immediately. This drum is also available on Reverb. If needed, more photos available there. I have fully scrutinized this drum and determined it is in generally good used condition. Plenty of little things, but nothing that will prevent you from immediately putting it on your kit and playing it. There is significant micro-pitting on the chrome plated die cast rims and general weathering apparent. Lugs look good from 10 away. But, they have micro-scratches. Brass is tarnished. Integrity of shell and edges is very good. Inside is very clean. Badge is good. Heads are used. But, tune up nicely. Snare wires are original extended and very good. This is an outstanding drum for the player or sound engineer looking to add a high-end drum to their collection, for less. She aint the prettiest… But, looks pretty darn good, still.
