SELMER PICCOLO TRUMPET Bb 3 Valve 1961. Offered for sale a Henri Selmer B-flat, 3 valve piccolo trumpet with Selmer mouthpiece. Other engraving says KAISERSLAUTERN. Serial number is 248xx. This picc has been chem cleaned in our brass repair shop and valves show very little wear. Tuning slides are free and move easily. Case is not original but is form fitting and the Selmer mouthpiece works really well with this horn! The compression has been tested and is excellent. The trumpet is approximately 11 long and comes with a Selmer Paris mouthpiece (also made in France), stamped #1. Our brass technician was playing the piccolo trumpet solo from the Beatles “Penny Lane” after it was serviced. There are some places on the bell where the original lacquer has worn off, but otherwise it’s a really good looking, good playing horn. Although some players might prefer the 4 valve piccolo trumpet, the price of this horn is much less than you would pay for a comparable 4 valve picc trumpet. If you’ve been waiting to add a professional piccolo trumpet to your arsenal, you could own this for just a few dollars more than an inferior instrument.
