Rudall Carte wooden piccolo
Cocus wood with silver keywork. Two ring keys in the right hand. Made in 1904 for Teddy Redfern of the Halle Orchestra. This is the work of Harry West, one of Rudall Carte’s top makers, as can be seen in the lovely shapes of the keycups and touchpieces, and also in the underslung trillers. Mechanism in excellent condition. Body wood is also excellent. An old repaired crack in the headjoint. Comes in its original case. This piccolo is not currently in working order. In our opinion it needs a service that would clean it, oil the wood, replace one or more springs, and clean oil and adjust the mechanism.
