Antique Vintage Old Wooden Cocus Piccolo Fife Flute Wallis London
Up for sale is my 19th. Century one key Wallis Bb piccolo. This piccolo is in very good condition, without cracks or damage, and the only part missing is the crown. It is made from dark Cocus, although it appears to be Blackwood in the photos, when held in strong sunlight, you can see the distinctive grain pattern and reddish/brown hue. This instrument plays in Bb at A = 440 Hz, using a downwards embouchure, and speaks with a clear, strong voice. Intonation is good for a period instrument, with the C (E on a D flute) requiring slight lipping down. It is clearly stamped on all three sections (see photos 6-7).
