This rare AE Fischer flute was handmade in Bremen Germany and I originally thought it was a Rittershausen stencil but it is not identical to a Rittershausen. This flute needs a full overhaul – keys need full disassembly, cleaning & oiling as all of the keys don’t move independently and are seized up from sitting unused for many years. The pads need to be replaced as they are very old but on a positive note the pads are held in with screws and washers! The toneholes are soldered and appear to be in good condition. This flute is made of nickel silver (aka maillechort) with lovely silver plated finish throughout. It should polish up very nicely. The mechanism is closed hole Boehm with French-pointed keywork featuring offset G, closed G#, Bb trill, D# roller and C foot. Includes original case & key with crutch (crutch needs to be resoldered back together but is complete) in good condition. Case lock does still work. Flute does not play as-is but is worthy of a full restoration. Overall length assembled: 26 15/16in (68.42cm) including crown. Embouchure hole to center of C# tonehole: 9 5/16in (23.65cm). Embouchure hole to end of foot (sounding length): 23 13/16in (604.8mm). All photos are of actual item available for sale. Additional photos available on request! Antique grenadilla wood – no cracks, intricate key work inlay tone holes. E’ Piccolo/flute made by top flute makers William and George of the JC Haynes company BOSTON MA. (flute makers late 1800s -early 1900s Boston, MA BAYSTATE was their first name brand). Later, they made silver, gold and other wooden flutes (wooden flutes ended 1918). Read their history here. LOOK AT THE WOOD GRAIN, and the key details. The left hand of this flute/piccolo plays ok but this instrument needs right hand adjustment. This Rare E LP flute comes with what I believe is the original case.

From my collection: this rare F (Eb) wooden flute made in Paris c. 1880 by Jerome Thivouville-Lamy (JTL). Cocus wood, 6 keys, the flute is in very good playing condition at A=440Hz with new pads and new cork. It comes in its original case. A very good instrument for a flute collector, flute player in charanga or on period instruments.

Antique handmade Djalma Julliot French silvered flute, year-1940’s. The flute is not in playing condition, pads are old and need to be replaced. It need to be completely overhauled. Silver plated – head joint, body, foot and keys, crown and lip plate, French pointed keys, tone holes – are soldered, closed holes, key – C, seamed tube. Sounding length: 59.5cm. Made in France – year -1940’s. From a private collector from GENEVE/Switzerland.
