Gemeinhardt 4WSSK Professional Piccolo Grenadilla, Solid Silver Keywork
Vintage Gemeinhardt 4WSSK Professional Wooden Concert Piccolo. This piccolo has a grenadilla body and head. The mechanism is solid silver. The instrument was handmade and features hand finished undercutting to the toneholes and head. Serial number puts the year of manufacture at approximately 1990. This instrument plays beautifully. Excellent scale and response. Nice even, dark, round sound across all registers. Whisper easy high range, very sweet sound. The mechanism is in great condition and the pads look like they have plenty of life left in them. The piccolo comes in the original French style leather covered case. The case shows signs of wear including scuffs and wear spots to the exterior leather, primarily on the corners. The case still latches and functions well, and is clean. It stores the instrument well. Included is a brand new nylon Emerson case cover with shearing interior. I used it occasionally in grad school and some teaching. Could be a great deal on an awesome pro horn for someone.
