Rare Thibouville Frères Antique Wooden Boehm French Piccolo c. 1900 This rare conical ringed Boehm French D piccolo is beautifully crafted. She is in excellent condition considering her age. One repaired hairline crack on the headjoint. One little chip on the G plateau. The flute plays beautifully at A=440 Hz on her old pads, with the typical full and singing voice of the French Golden Era. Very easy to play. The oval shape of the embouchure is elegantly cut, right in the tradition of the best French flutes. Engraving reads: “Lyre symbol Thibouville Frères Ivry (Eure) Star symbol Brevetés SGDG Fournisseur de l’armée”. Full length: 315 mm. Sounding length: 266 mm. Boehm System Piccolo with open-hole ring style mechanism. Wood appears to be grenadilla with Maillechort (Nickel-Silver) key work. Instrument is stamped by Le Comte, though it could be a stencil from another maker. There is no serial number. Instrument recently had complete overhaul and replacement of pads; though an adjustment after piccolo adjusts to humidity in its new home would probably be beneficial. Crack repair was made to head (see photos) and a handcrafted replacement of headjoint crown and ring was also made. Tuning length (center of embouchure to end of piccolo when fully assembled) is approximately 270 mm (10 9/16), and appears pitched around 438. Comes in non-original case. Rare vintage piccolo trumpet by SELMER PARIS, made around 1975, serial number is 61850. Very good general condition! Fully cleaned, all slides and valves move freely and it plays very well! The silver plated is very good too, mother of pearls on valve buttons. Really a great instrument, similar model was played by Maurice ANDRE. Please see all the pics and my other items for sale. Henri Selmer Paris French piccolo trumpet model 360B – Maurice Andre in playing condition. No dents, dings or damages. All the valves and slides move freely. Never has been damaged or dropped. Recently cleaned and oiled by music shop. Original lacquer – 95%. All 4 valves have very smooth response and are in perfect shape. It is very well balanced and plays wonderfully in tune with both the Bb and A lead pipes. The Selmer piccolo trumpets have a sound very close to the oboe. Bb and A- lead pipes, gold lacquered, 4 piston valves, cylindrical bore, tuning ring for the 3rd side, water key, ideal ergonomy. Including original Selmer hard case, second lead pipe for A and Vincent Bach 5C mouthpiece. Year of made -1970’s. L Lebret #2912 handmade antique French silver plated piccolo flute c. 1900 Lovely C piccolo flute carefully handmade in Paris by Louis Léon Joseph Lebret circa 1900, former Louis Lot employee. Serial number is #2912. Lip plate engraving: “Lebret Paris”. L Lebret Paris Fournisseur du Conservatoire 2,912 Déposé. This “time capsule” instrument is in full original condition, never modified, certainly with its original pads. Clearly, this piccolo has been played only several months by its original owner, then safely stored by the family in a dry closet until now. After a careful disassembling and examination, we can’t find any wear on the keys and mechanics. The tone holes are perfect. This gorgeous Lebret piccolo plays on its original pads with this rich, deep and singing sound from the French golden era, in the tradition established by Louis Lot and Auguste Bonneville. Please look at the perfect oval cut of the embouchure hole! Lower notes sound thin: the piccolo will need new pads. Full length: 323 mm. Sounding length: 267 mm. Plays at 440 Hz. This piccolo comes in its original case in excellent condition. Very few remain on the market today : they are so cherished by professional musicians and sought after by collectors. “Time Caps eule” A. Lecomte & Cie handmade antique French wooden Db piccolo flute circa 1900 Lovely Db piccolo flute carefully handmade in Paris by Arsène Zoë Lecomte between 1890 and 1910. L&Cie (tuning fork)/A. According to The New Langwill Index , Arsène Zoë Lecomte was trained by Gautrot Aîné before creating his own shop. This “time capsule” instrument is in full original condition, never modified, certainly with its original pads. Clearly, this piccolo has been played only several months by its original owner, then safely stored by the family in a dry closet until now. After a careful disassembling and examination, we can’t find any wear on the keys and mechanics. The tone holes are perfect. The grain and texture of the flammed exotic wood is absolutely delicious. This gorgeous Lecomte piccolo plays pretty well on its original pads with this rich, deep and singing sound from the French golden era, in the tradition established by Louis Lot and Auguste Bonneville. Please look at the perfect oval cut of the embouchure hole! No visible cracks or repaired cracks in the wood except one on the end cap. Plays pretty well from low to high notes but would certainly benefit from new pads and corks. Sounding length: 247 mm. Full length: 301 mm Plays at 440 Hz. Comes in a delicious french wooden case in very good condition. Very few remain on the market today : they are so cherished by professional musicians and sought after by collectors. Here is an old ring-key Db piccolo made by F. Sudre was a well-respected maker. Since this instrument is marked successor to Halary, it is probably from. The earlier end of that range. I have played flutes by Sudre that are excellent. The piccolo is complete but will need complete restoration. There is a crack in the head but the wood is otherwise very good. The ferrule at the crown end of the head is broken and will need to be brazed. New pads, springs and cleaning. No case or accessories. Total length is 30 cm. Remember, this is a Db piccolo!
