Boehm System Piccolo with open-hole ring style mechanism. Wood appears to be grenadilla with Maillechort (Nickel-Silver) key work. Instrument is stamped by Le Comte, though it could be a stencil from another maker. There is no serial number. Instrument recently had complete overhaul and replacement of pads; though an adjustment after piccolo adjusts to humidity in its new home would probably be beneficial. Crack repair was made to head (see photos) and a handcrafted replacement of headjoint crown and ring was also made. Tuning length (center of embouchure to end of piccolo when fully assembled) is approximately 270 mm (10 9/16), and appears pitched around 438. Comes in non-original case.
