Used Piccolo

Solid gold 18ct fitted piccolo head joint. Stamped “Nach HF Meyer Hanover”. Presumably still German made, as stamped. The brass internal tube fits tightly into the barrel joint shown. The barrel joint seems to be a pretty standard size. Very prominent Pre 1946 cross grained NOT speckled material so not posted to USA. Base it clearly upon the statement four lines above this. Cosmetic wear commensurate with genuine age. I added a standard barrel which you can have, it all fits beautifully securely. I was shown this as a curio and asked to test for gold. Successfully hallmarked at London Assay Office by me. It now bears the Leopards Head London and 750 hallmarks. The date hallmark bears no relation to the age of the item or maker. The mark is ONLY referring to the date of assay and sponsor who submitted. I know nothing further regarding this item and do not play piccolo. I believe it should probably have an appropriately sized cork shoved in the top end under the gold cap and will try to get one.
