Rare Thibouville Frères Antique Wooden Boehm French Piccolo c. 1900 This rare conical ringed Boehm French D piccolo is beautifully crafted. She is in excellent condition considering her age. One repaired hairline crack on the headjoint. One little chip on the G plateau. The flute plays beautifully at A=440 Hz on her old pads, with the typical full and singing voice of the French Golden Era. Very easy to play. The oval shape of the embouchure is elegantly cut, right in the tradition of the best French flutes. Engraving reads: “Lyre symbol Thibouville Frères Ivry (Eure) Star symbol Brevetés SGDG Fournisseur de l’armée”. Full length: 315 mm. Sounding length: 266 mm.
