Finke rotary valve Bb / A piccolo trumpet
Absolutely brilliant 4-valve rotary High Bb/ A trumpet by Finke. Finke, better known for their french horns, also make great trumpets (especially rotary valve ones). It has a single tuning slide that extends from Bb to A – if you want separate slides, you’d have to look at after-market options. The valves on this trumpet are very nice, it produces a great sound (with the right mouthpiece of course) and plays in tune and evenly throughout the register. Re that mouthpiece comment – I did have to work on finding a mouthpiece that worked for me on this trumpet. For me it was a Schilke 12a4a. One nice touch is an extension for the fourth valve that when added, extends the range to drop from a fourth to a fifth. The instrument is in pretty much perfect condition – it looks like it has had very light use, no dents and the lacquer is completely intact (save for a small spot on 4th valve slide – shown in photos). I recommend coming and having a play (PE29) – I think this is every bit as good as a Scherzer, but at significantly less cost. This piccolo trumpet currently retails new around 2,495. If you are after a high quality German made rotary piccolo, this is a great choice and you don’t see too many about. Please ask any questions. The serial number is 82533. Made in Elkhart Ind. Body is made of a ABS Resin plastic material and the head joint is a silver plated metal. The Piccolo is in overall good condition but could use some work to be in good playing condition. The piccolo could use cleaning and polishing. The keys have tarnish and need polishing. They have some scratches and wear. Some of the pads look ok and some are worn and may need to be replaced, I have taken a close up picture so you can judge for yourself. Please look at the pictures. Gemeinhardt Piccolo (serial #99740) is the perfect Christmas gift for a concert and marching band student. Piccolo’s silver plate and composite material construction plays beautifully and holds up to outside conditions. Piccolo was very gently used in the mid 1980s for two years by one owner. It has been stored in a climate controlled environment since the 1980s. Piccolo is in good condition with minimal scratches. The original pads are in good condition. Case has a deep scratch or possible crack on back corner. The felt lining is in good condition with the common light staining from lubricant used on mouth piece. Case latches hold perfectly. Case measures approximately 9.5 x 3.5 x 2 inches. Carefully packed with bubble wrap, paper and/or foam. THIS HIGH END SET HAS 7 PSA GRADED CARDS. THEY INCLUDE JOE NAMATH #100 PSA 7, GALE SAYERS #51 PSA 6, BRYON PICCOLO #26 PSA 6, LARRY CSONKA #120 PSA 6, JOHHNY UNITAS #25 PSA 6, BOB GRIESE #161 PSA 5 and BART STARR #215 PSA 4.5. Key rookie cards in the set belong to Brian Piccolo (#26) and Larry Csonka (#120). The 1969 Topps Football card set contains the only card issued of Brian Piccolo before his untimely death. Interestingly, Piccolo’s name is spelled differently on both sides of his card, and both are wrong. The error was never corrected. While not technically true variations, the tone of the background is prone to different hues based on ink levels at the time that particular sheet was being printed.
