Lot#1251 – Hunter Brass Lacquer 4 Valve Piccolo Trumpet. Looks like a Rose Brass Bell. Valves and slides move easily. Seems like a solid horn with good weight. Not much wear on it. Has a newish appearance but it does have minor nicks and marks from use. There is a little brace piece missing see line – sorry… Really should have gotten a better pic, but once I realized it, I already had it packed.. Should be a easy solder job. Vintage Artley 4-0 Flute with Silver Head & B-foot and Wooden Piccolo with Case to Hold Both – All Outstanding Condition Just beautiful silver finish on this heavy wall open-hole flute with B-foot and Silver headpiece. Piccolo is beautiful well-crafted wood and has no maker’s markings. Both of these professional woodwind instruments produce rich sound quality and have been impeccably maintained by their professional big-band leader owner. These instruments have a history of performances in the Chicago area. Both in near mint condition. These instruments are ready to play. Flute head is stamped: Artley 4-0 Silver Nogales, AZ Open-hole design and B-foot add versatility, control and rich tone. Flute action seems quite good. Piccolo may require minor adjustment. The pads look good but may need to be replaced to your liking. As shown in picture # 12, the inside padding on the top part of the case falls down as it is not secured by the glue anymore. Boehm System Piccolo with open-hole ring style mechanism. Wood appears to be grenadilla with Maillechort (Nickel-Silver) key work. Instrument is stamped by Le Comte, though it could be a stencil from another maker. There is no serial number. Instrument recently had complete overhaul and replacement of pads; though an adjustment after piccolo adjusts to humidity in its new home would probably be beneficial. Crack repair was made to head (see photos) and a handcrafted replacement of headjoint crown and ring was also made. Tuning length (center of embouchure to end of piccolo when fully assembled) is approximately 270 mm (10 9/16), and appears pitched around 438. Comes in non-original case. Rare vintage piccolo trumpet by SELMER PARIS, made around 1975, serial number is 61850. Very good general condition! Fully cleaned, all slides and valves move freely and it plays very well! The silver plated is very good too, mother of pearls on valve buttons. Really a great instrument, similar model was played by Maurice ANDRE. Please see all the pics and my other items for sale. The majority of the models are 1:90 scale. With the exception of the 2 loose trucks pictured, all models are as new/ mint with their original boxes. It appears the majority of the boxes have never been opened. All boxes are in excellent condition. Some scuff marks on the clear plastic sleeves for the models pictured.
