This is a spectacular Victorian cylinder music box was made in 1880’s Piccolo – Zither The box plays 10 songs. Antique Swiss 13 Cylinder Music Box Piccolo Zither 12 Air Mandolin Inlaid Wood Case Original Tune Card c 1890. Late 19th Century antique mechanical Swiss music box with single cylinder that plays 12 airs, marked with serial #69330. 13 cylinder, wood case with lock, hand written original song / tune card. All 62 teeth are unbroken and their tips are intact. Crank wind, stop / start and change / repeat switches. Zither has original tissue paper intact. Hinged wood lid with floral inlay. Overall dimensions are 24″ L x 9 1/4″ D x 6 1/2 high. All fasteners and fittings bear corresponding marks. Tunes and composers listed below. Key for lock not included. Lower right corner of tune card is broken off but will be sent with the box Crank and cylinder can move but mechanism does not “take off” to play on its own and it need of conditioning / maintenance.
