Silver plating about 99.5% with very light scratches from careful use and polishing, but no dents or signs of repair. You could probably find a tiny imperfection or two, but you’d have to go looking pretty hard for it–and far less than the other one listed on this site! All tuning slides are free, valves are fast and smooth and quiet and show very little use at all. Unlike other piccs you may be looking at, this one has f. Our total leadpipes, including Bb and A for both cornet and trumpet mouthpieces. Just lubed and polished. I don’t have a case to fit this, but you’ll probably be dropping it (carefully, of course) into your triple or quad case anyway. It is in pristine shape, very minimal wear to the silver plating, fast and smooth valves, all the slides and Amado keys move easily, just a tiny ding in the bell which I tried to show in the pictures but is barely visible on camera. I bought this trumpet new in 2010. Although the original pipe is good, I found that those Blackburn leadpipes made the horn play like a dream, very in tune with a beautiful resonant sound. I have played this trumpet with many orchestras, including the Hawai’i Symphony and the New World Symphony. I have also won competitions with it. It has always worked equally well in orchestral and solo contexts. I recently did a Brandenburg on it as well. This horn looks and plays just like when I got it. Very nice Finke piccolo trumpet. Quality german engineering as you would expect. Plays very nicely – quite free up to the top A, as piccolos go…. Though it does depend on the player of course. As with all piccolos, slightly temperamental when it comes to the mouthpiece selection, but for me a Schilke 12A4a (your mileage may vary) works very well and very good sound and tuning. I have played piccolos costing much more and found them less enjoyable and less easy to play – I find that this piccolo has enough character to allow you to express yourself musically. Condition is OK – lacquer mostly intact though some wear and spots here and there – please check the photos. I’ve changed the springs (bottom sprung) as the originals were very heavy. The are still not the lightest valves I’ve ever played – quite firm, but no wear and seem very reliable. Really nice piccolo – and very well built. Built to last – and for playability. Not built in China to be cheap, but great value – a highest quality instrument for a lot less than the Schilke and Yamaha equivalents – this would be a great instrument for a student or professional. The Finke leadpipe needs puilling out for A. However, I also enclose a couple of other generic leadpipes that fit for Bb and A in case you prefer them. Or ask any questions.
