The pen has barely been used and is presented in wonderful condition. Nakaya require no introduction and if you’ve got this far then likely you’ll be familiar with their wonderful writing instruments. The pen is hand-turned from solid ebonite rod stock, which then has multiple layers of red lacquer applied, before finally being finished with natural urushi resin. For your consideration we are offering for sale this Japanese Nakaya Piccolo Cigar Housoge Fountain Pen with 14K Gold 2-Tone Broad Nib. This Nakaya Fountain Pen is new, never inked, comes with original wooden box, pen sleeve, ink cartridges, and ink converter. I consider this Nakaya in Mint, New Old Stock Condition. This Nakaya Piccolo Cigar Housoge Shu is from the Charcoal line of Fountain Pens. This pen from Nakaya has multiple layers of hand applied layers of natural resins. The base color of the pen is bright red “Shu” and line is black (charcoal). An artist engraves a motif by the unique “Chinkin” technique on a lacquer surface. After that, an artist embeds “Sumi”(charcoal) to the lines. The design is of vines and floral motifs the entire length of the cap and barrel. This Nakaya Piccolo Cigar Housoge displays no wear. It is in Mint Condition with no chips, cracks, damage, or ever inked. The cap is threaded and secures to the barrel tightly. This Nakaya Piccolo Cigar Housoge Fountain Pen measures 5 1/8″ capped and 6 1/2″ posted. The Nakaya Piccolo Cigar Housoge Fountain Pen comes with the upgraded 2-tone 14K/585 Broad Nib. The point measures at. 96mm, or a Broad Nib, when measured with digital calipers. I have not written with the nib as I wanted to keep it this Nakaya in Mint, Never Inked, Condition. The filling system is via an Ink Converter. I tested it with water and works as it was designed to. The Nakaya comes with the original softwood box with Japanese script on the cover and outer rice paper box. Internally, we have ink cartridges and the kimono fabric pen sleeve. This Nakaya Fountain Pen was individually handmade and took roughly 3 to 6 months or longer to get one of these completed. This one is considered in Mint Condition, Never Inked.
