It is in exceptional condition: plating about 99.9% with little if any wear at all-and you’d have to look pretty hard and pretty long to find even the tiniest ding or scratch. It is, quite simply, gorgeous. All tuning slides are free, valves are fast and smooth and quiet with very little wear at all. Just through the shop where it was chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, and polished. Amado water keys for greatly decreased resistance and improved response. A great, pro piccolo without spending more than two grand on a Yamaha or Kanstul, though we have those as well! Silver plating about 99.5% with very light scratches from careful use and polishing, but no dents or signs of repair. You could probably find a tiny imperfection or two, but you’d have to go looking pretty hard for it–and far less than the other one listed on this site! All tuning slides are free, valves are fast and smooth and quiet and show very little use at all. Unlike other piccs you may be looking at, this one has f. Our total leadpipes, including Bb and A for both cornet and trumpet mouthpieces. Just lubed and polished. Great Player, Gorgeous Condition, Lacquer Nearly 100%. NEW GETZEN CASE, Monette AP 1.5 LM Gold Plated MOUTHPIECE. I play trumpet and cornet with a municipal brass band still. I have played Piccolo trumpet since 1973, and have several, and although I play Eb cornet in one of the bands I participate in, occasionally I get to do a feature playing the clarinet part on the pic. My little devil is not included! Small dent (repaired professionally) in the top ram’s horn bend of the third slide tube, small scratches in the lacquer of the tuning bit receiver. A couple of scratches at the base of the fourth valve cylinder wall above the bottom valve cap. At my price, the horn comes with a NEW Getzen case correct for this instrument, 4 Getzen leadpipes Bb – Cornet and Trumpet Shank Receivers. A pitch both Cornet and Trumpet Shank Receivers and a Very Nice Monette Gold Plated Short Trumpet shank Piccolo Trumpet mouthpiece, size AP 1.5 LM. This instrument is in functionally and cosmetically very GOOD condition. Valve compression (terrific Getzen valves) and slide fit is what you would expect right off the shelf. The case is the original, even a key is included. Sadly, the case has dried out and become brittle. I have taped up the crack in the pictures. Gold Plated Short Trumpet shank Piccolo Trumpet mouthpiece, size AP 1.5 LM in like new condition is included. I have collected, repaired, and played trumpets for over 48 years. As a knowledgeable and experienced amateur, I have a lower cost of operation than a commercial enterprise, and can keep my costs low. I have thoroughly inspected this instrument, replaced the felts and corks and aligned the valves as needed, and made sure that it plays properly, and has proper tone for your beginner. I have cleaned the instrument thoroughly, polished all slides to prevent corrosion from locking the slides and valves, and properly lubricated the instrument with high quality lubricant. Many teachers do have preferences, and this can affect a student’s progress. I will, however, flatly state that many of the “bargain basement” new instruments from the unknown manufacturers (even when they are branded, you may not know who made them) are inferior. Parts for repair, or even the repairs themselves are not available, due to odd pieces, or inferior materials. Internal dimensions and correct alloys are critical on all musical instruments. A shiny (or odd colored) instrument with inferior playing qualities will soon discourage even the most eager student. THIS DESCRIPTION IS AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE. It is in pristine shape, very minimal wear to the silver plating, fast and smooth valves, all the slides and Amado keys move easily, just a tiny ding in the bell which I tried to show in the pictures but is barely visible on camera. I bought this trumpet new in 2010. Although the original pipe is good, I found that those Blackburn leadpipes made the horn play like a dream, very in tune with a beautiful resonant sound. I have played this trumpet with many orchestras, including the Hawai’i Symphony and the New World Symphony. I have also won competitions with it. It has always worked equally well in orchestral and solo contexts. I recently did a Brandenburg on it as well. This horn looks and plays just like when I got it. Great Playing Vintage Getzen 940 Piccolo Trumpet. Serial # BP 110. What a wonderful playing piccolo trumpet! As a long time player and collector of professional trumpets, I can testify to the high. Quality that this vintage trumpet offers. The sound has a lively rich bell like quality and the valves are classic Getzen! I can’t imagine any professional player or advancing student not really loving this trumpet. Included are three leadpipes including a Blackburn A and a nice Vincent Bach Corp. 7E mouthpiece with a 117 throat. The major cosmetic blemish is missing lacquer. There are a couple of pings and minor scaring from minor past dent removal but no large dents and as mentioned above, a stellar playing professional piccolo.
