Antique Boosey Hawkes Rosewood Fife, Wooden Flute Piccolo, Vintage Folk Whistle

This beautiful antique Boosey & Kawkes fife Piccolo? Date to the 19th century, it is made from rosewood ebony? And has several metal keys as seen in the photos. All the keys appearing to be in good working order however the pads look old and may need replacing. The flute splits into two, these segments appear to be made from two different woods which makes me wonder if they started off life together? Condition is good, it is complete with no splits in the wood, mechanically the piece seems fine. However the end cap is broken as shown in last photo, the end of the fife that this piece attaches to seems to be plugged with an internal piece so I think the broken part is more decorative that functional. The joint between the two segments will need attention to achieve an airtight seal. Measuring 37 cm long. Antique Transverse Rosewood “Corona Orchestra” 6 key Flute. The flute is composed of 5 elements which fit snuggly together without movement. The keys appear to function properly and contain worn pads. The brass lined head piece has 2 wood cracks which are pictured. These should not affect playing quality because of the brass lining. The flute is marked Corona Orchestra as pictured. Total length approximately 24 1/2. The antique 6 key piccolo is composed of a dark hard wood but not rosewood. The piece breaks down into 4 components with nickel silver padded keys and other elements. The head and middle piece each show a crack as pictured. Some scratches are also present. The total length of the unmarked piccolo is approx. The 2 pieces come in a felt lined hinged box which is a old replacement. The pieces are offered as found without repairs or restorations. Antique FLAGEOLET piccolo flute stamped Ouvrard (Marans), in granadillo wood. I know very little about musical instruments but I can confirm that it is made in granadillo wood and that wood is in perfect condition, without cracks, scratches or bumps and that the keys seem to be in good condition without missing any parts. The carrying case is mahogany and has a working key. To see somethings about flageolet see. The flute is 36 cms long. All items I sell are vintage or antique and may not be as new or when first made and may show signs of wear, age, use, or soiling, rust, dents, scratches, chips, flakes, or states that are other than when originally made. ANTIQUE BOXWOOD CLARINET by H WREDE LONDON 1840 flute piccolo vintage. CLARINET by HERMANN WREDE of LONDON It dates from the early 19th Century, Circa 1830s. The clarinet measures approx 20 3/4 inches (530mm) long and is made from boxwood with brass keys. The instrument is in pretty good condition considering it is nearly 200 years old! There is a crack in the top barrel; (but no other slpits or cracks) one key has lost its top end; the springs and pads need attention; & there is no mouthpiece. The clarinet joints are very tight, so I have not attempted to undo them. This is a good quality antique instrument, by a well documented maker. A similar instrument can be viewed in the Online Library Of Congress Musical Instrument collection. DCM 0275: Hermann Wrede / Clarinet in C. This beautiful antique fife dates to around 1890, it is made from rosewood and has several metal keys as seen in the photos. All the keys appearing to be working however the pads look old and may need replacing, there does not appear to be a makers mark that I can find. The flute splits into two pieces, the joint is tight as this is a very nicely made piece. There seems to be a very minor split to the bottom segment near the joint, you can see this in photo 10. I cannot play the instrument however my friend tested it and it sounded sweet. Condition is excellent and original, there are some minor losses near the mouth piece. I have not attempted to clean the piece and have left the tape on the joint, this was placed by the previous owner. Measuring 37 cm long. Antique Vintage Old Wooden 4 Key Irish Bb Flute Piccolo Henry Potter London

Up for sale is my 4 key Cocus Bb. Piccolo made by Henry Potter of London (1859-95). Stylistically, it appears to be an early example of this maker’s work. Made from quality hardwood, and Nickel Silver keys, this lovely instrument is in full playing order, easy to play at 455 Hz. And has a surprisingly powerful rounded voice. There are a few historic crack repairs to head and ring (see photos 2-4) which are sound. Other than this, the piccolo is in very good overall shape. Stamped with a B. And then (Unicorn) “POTTER LONDON” on the head, and (Unicorn) HENRY POTTER. B on the body. Century wooden piccolo in B. This instrument is in good condition, apart from the missing crown, and in full playing order. There is a neat crack repair to the head, which is sound, and a natural inclusion to the rear of the head (see photos 2 & 3). This instrument plays at A = 440 Hz in B natural, with a sweet, clear voice. It is marked on the head and body J. (see photo 8), dating this piccolo to the late 19th.
