Handmade Bettoney Wood Flute & Piccolo Matching Set Sterling Keys Gold Springs

Here is a matching Bettoney flute & piccolo set. Both instruments are handmade made of grenadilla with sterling silver keys and gold springs. A few of the springs on the piccolo have been replaced with blued steel. The flute is in the key of C pitched at A-440hz while the piccolo is in the key of Db at A-440hz. The flute is in better condition than the piccolo so we have priced this set accordingly. The flute has three cracks on the headjoint (one obvious and two hairlines) and one on the body near the D tonehole (can be seen inside the bore but not from above). The piccolo has a few cracks that were pinned but have since opened up. We’d suggest unpinning the piccolo, properly cleaning the cracks and repinning. The Bettoney flute includes original case in overall good condition. The piccolo does not have a case. The flute will need less work than the piccolo. Bettoney Handmade Db Piccolo Grenadilla with Sterling Keys & Gold Springs A-440hz

This lovely antique Bettoney piccolo is made of grenadilla wood with sterling silver Boehm keywork. The wood is very dry and needs oiling. The keywork is traditional Boehm configuration featuring closed G# and original gold springs. There is no Bb trill key on this piccolo. The pads are old and we’d recommend replacing them. The toneholes are sharp and in great shape. There are no cracks on this piccolo aside from two in the crown. There is a metal tenon cap included. There is no case included with this piccolo. This piccolo plays in Db at A-440hz. This piccolo would make an awesome addition to a flute collection or to have repadded and be a player just transpose half a step up! Up for grabs is a Christensen sterling silver cylindrical bore piccolo with sterling keywork and gold springs. The D# spring has been previously replaced with a blued steel spring. This lovely piccolo is in need of a full restoration to include all new pads. Piccolo is complete with all parts. Original case is included. Believed to be in Db low pitch (A-435hz or so).
