RARE 1920s SCHUCO Piccolo Miniature, Jointed Panda Bear Mohair, 3.5 in
Made in Germany by Schuco, this is an original panda of the “Piccolo” series of miniature bears produced by Shuco in the 1920s. He has black pin eyes, stitched nose and mouth, jointed arms and legs and a head that swivels completely around on a cylindrical, shiny metal tube. His original red scarf is faded, but in good condition and his jointed body can hold a pose. He and is 3.5 tall. In 1927, the Piccolo line was expanded to include novelty “Compact” bears. Those miniatures had a removable head and the body contained a mirror, compact, lipstick and powder puff or a perfume bottle or a manicure set. The wool is clean and in excellent undamaged condition.
